1.Define the term probability and sample space.Also write the formula to find the probability of an event.
2.A die is thrown once .What is the probability that it show (i) a 3 (ii) a 5 (iii) an even number ( iv) an odd number (v) a prime number
3.Two coins are tossed simultaneously. What is the probability of getting atleast one head ?
4.Three unbiased coins are tossed simultaneously. Find the probability of getting (i) exactly two heads (ii) at least 2 heads (iii) at most two heads
5.A box contains 100 red balls , 200 yellow balls and 50 blue balls.If a ball is drawn at random from the box , then find the probability that it will be (i) a blue ball (ii) not a yellow ball (iii) neither yellow nor blue ball
6.A bag contains 5 red balls and some blue balls .If the probability of drawing a blue ball from the bag is thrice that of red ball .Find the number of blue balls in the bag.
7.A letter of english alphabets is choosen at random .Determine the probability that the choosen letter is a consonant.
8.If the probability of winning the game is 0.7 , what is the probability of lossing it ?
9.A box contains 90 discs which are numbered from 1 to 90. If one disc is drawn at random from the box .Find the probability that it bears (i) a two digit number (ii) a perfect square number (iii) a number divisible by 5
10.A lot of 20 bulbs contains 4 defective ones.One bulb is drawn at random from the lot.What is the probability that this bulb is not defective .
